You deal with Robin from the first call to the final walk-through

A direct conversation

Robin quotes the job himself and works on the tools, so the person you discuss the job with is the person painting your home. He brings more than 25 years in the trade, a Certificate III in General Construction (Painting and Decorating) and an active QBCC licence to every job. Read more about Robin’s background.

A defined scope

The quote names the walls, ceilings, doors, trims or exterior surfaces included. Anything outside it is discussed with you before it is done, so there are no surprise extras at the end.

Preparation and respect for your home

Surfaces are assessed and prepared before painting, and floors, furniture and gardens are protected while the work is underway. When the job is finished, the house is left clean.

How a repaint comes together

Quotes and start dates are agreed with you in conversation, not booked automatically.

  1. Tell Robin about the property

Share your suburb, the rooms or surfaces involved, their current condition and the timing you have in mind. Photos help him understand the job before he visits.

  2. Assessment and quote

Robin looks at the surfaces and access, then confirms what the quote covers, room by room or wall by wall, including the preparation each surface needs.

  3. Agree timing and preparation

You settle a start date together, plus what needs moving, covering or repairing before painting begins.

  4. Paint and review

The work is completed to the agreed scope, then you walk through the finished job with Robin and check it against the quote.

Painting in Kingaroy first

Kingaroy is where Robin is focusing his work as a house painter, so jobs there come first.

Further out in the South Burnett? Ask anyway. Robin checks the distance, the size of the job and his schedule, and tells you whether he can quote it.

Kingaroy is a town of stand-alone homes. In the 2021 Census, 85.8% of occupied dwellings were separate houses and more than a third were rented. Many have been extended or repaired over the decades, so a repaint often mixes older timber and plaster with newer work.

The climate shapes the timing too. At around 434 metres above sea level, Kingaroy averages a July minimum of 3.9°C and a January maximum of 30.9°C, so exterior work is planned around the season and the time of day.

Nearby areas

Robin also paints homes in towns near Kingaroy. Each one is checked job by job for distance, job size and his schedule.

What information helps with a quote?

Your suburb, the rooms or outside surfaces you want painted, and their current condition, such as peeling, cracking, stains or a dark existing colour. Also tell Robin roughly when you would like the work done. Photos help him understand the job before he visits.

What surfaces can be included?

Inside, that means walls, ceilings, doors and trims. Outside, it covers weatherboards, timber and masonry, plus window frames, doors and screens. Your quote names every surface included. Anything not listed is discussed before work starts.

How is timing agreed?

Once you’re happy with the quote, you and Robin settle a start date together. That date depends on his schedule, the weather for exterior work and any other trades on site. Before painting begins, you will know what needs moving and what repairs are planned.

My house is older. What about lead paint?

Paint applied before the 1970s can contain lead. Robin is trained in treating lead paint hazards and will check older surfaces during the assessment. If lead is a concern, he will explain how preparation will be handled before any sanding or scraping.

Do you paint units, townhouses and rentals?

Yes. Robin repaints houses, units and townhouses, including rental properties between tenants. More than a third of Kingaroy homes are rented, and empty rooms are the quickest to prepare, so share the vacate and new-lease dates when you ask for a quote.

How is the price worked out?

Each quote is based on the job rather than a fixed rate. The main factors are the number of rooms and surfaces, their condition, how much repair and preparation they need, ceiling heights and access, and whether you are changing to a very different colour. Everything included is listed in the quote.
