House Painters in Booie

Planning an interior or exterior repaint on your Booie property? Robin Jenner is a Kingaroy-based house painter with more than 25 years in the trade, and Booie is about 12 km up the road. He quotes every job himself, works out the preparation your home needs and paints it himself. Booie homes are mostly larger, owner-occupied houses on rural-residential blocks, so each quote lists every room and surface, plus the access around the house.

You deal with Robin from the first call to the final walk-through

A direct conversation

Robin quotes the job himself and works on the tools, so the person who walks your Booie property with you is the person who paints it. He holds a Certificate III in General Construction (Painting and Decorating) and an active QBCC licence, and he is trained in treating lead paint hazards. Read more about Robin’s background.

A defined scope

The quote names the walls, ceilings, doors, trims or exterior surfaces included, with the preparation each one needs. Anything outside it is discussed with you before it is done, so the final account matches what you agreed.

Preparation and respect for your home

Surfaces are washed, filled and sanded before painting. Floors, furniture, gardens and anything stored near the house are protected while the work is underway, and every area is left clean when the job is finished.

How a repaint comes together

Quotes and start dates are agreed with you in conversation, not booked automatically.

  1. Tell Robin about the property

Send your Booie address area, the rooms or surfaces involved, how they look now and your preferred timing. Photos help Robin understand the job before he makes the trip out.

  2. Assessment and quote

Robin looks at each surface and the access around the house, checks whether older paint needs testing, then writes the quote room by room or wall by wall.

  3. Agree timing and preparation

You and Robin choose a start date, and confirm what needs moving, covering or fixing before the first coat.

  4. Paint and review

Robin paints to the agreed scope, cleans up each area, and walks the finished house with you against the quote.

Painting in Booie

Booie is a rural-residential area about 12 km north-east of Kingaroy. Selectors took up farms in its hills in the early 1880s, a provisional school opened in 1892, and since the 1990s the area has added wineries and acreage living to its dairy-farming past.

Its homes are different from town. In the 2021 Census, 98.0% of occupied Booie dwellings were separate houses, averaging 3.4 bedrooms, and 87.8% were owned outright or with a mortgage. Only 7.7% were rented. For a house painter, that means larger homes, owners who plan to stay, and repaints done to last rather than turned around between tenants.

Older farmhouses and newer acreage homes sit side by side, so one job can mean timber that has carried paint for decades and the next a modern rendered house. Robin checks the age of existing coats on every Booie home and recommends lead testing where the paint predates 1970.

Question not covered here? Ask Robin directly on 0439 819 979.

What information helps with a quote?

Tell Robin you are in Booie, which rooms or outside surfaces you want painted and how they look now, such as peeling, cracking or a dark existing colour. Mention whether the house is one or two storeys and anything close to the walls, like water tanks, sheds or garden beds. Photos help him plan the visit.

What surfaces can be included?

Inside: walls, ceilings, doors and trims. Outside: weatherboards, timber, render and brick, plus window frames, fascias, doors, screens and verandah balustrades. Each one is listed in the quote with the preparation it needs. Anything that isn’t listed is talked through with you before work starts, so the scope is clear from day one.

How is timing agreed?

Once you accept the quote, you and Robin pick a start date together. Out-of-town jobs are planned so the work can run on consecutive days where possible, and outside work allows for the forecast, since exterior paint needs dry weather and mild wall temperatures. Dates can move if rain is coming.

My house is older. What about lead paint?

Booie has been farmed since the 1880s, and some homes carry paint from many decades. The Australian Government’s Lead Alert guide says homes built before 1970 are most at risk, and that dry sanding and scraping create the biggest hazard. Robin is trained in treating lead paint hazards and recommends testing before preparation starts.

Do you paint units, townhouses and rentals?

Booie is almost entirely stand-alone houses, and Robin also paints rental properties between tenants. If the house is empty or between leases, tell him the vacate and new-lease dates, because empty rooms are the quickest to prepare. Units and townhouses in Kingaroy are covered as well.

How is the price worked out?

Each quote is worked out for your home rather than a fixed rate. What changes it most is the number of rooms and surfaces, their condition and the preparation they need, then ceiling heights, storeys and access. A big colour change can add coats. If the distance from Kingaroy affects the price or timing, Robin will say so when he quotes.
